Note: Kentucky County (then alternately spelled Kentucke County) was formed by the Commonwealth of Virginia by dividing Fincastle County, VA. into three new counties: Kentucky, Washington, and Montgomery, effective December 31, 1776. During the three and one-half years of Kentucky County's existence, its seat of government was Harrodstown (then also known as Oldtown, later renamed Harrodsburg).

1. Hans Michell RISNER (Reisner) was born in 1720 in Germany. Hans (Henry) Michell Reisner sailed from Rotterdam, Holland on the ship Dragon Hargrave on September 30, 1732. It is unknown when and where the ship landed but it was probably in New York or Pennsylvania. It is unknown if there were other children born to this family, but son Michael Risner inherited all of their property upon their deaths. Hans married Catherine. Catherine was born in 1722 in Germany. They had the following children:
